did you take the ibuprofen for the pain?
it is possible that you just have heartburn or some other kind of ache or pain.
i'm pretty sure i've had it before. don't take the ibuprofen with any other fever reducers though. if you are taking a cold medication you shouldn't need the ibuprofen with it.

That really depends on how much stress you and your body have been under. The pains are likely the outer muscles of your chest (ie:not your hart or internal muscles). It could also be a growing pain or that you moved in a way that hilighted a muscle soreness. Muscle pain is a symptom of cold and flu, which is, I hope, why you took the dayquil. If it persists (a day or two) or worsens see a doctor.

Ibuprofen generally only affects the heart in dangerous doses/over prolonged periods. What I could find essencially said that it is only a risk if large doses are taken regularly, large being 600mg+. What dosage did you take, and how long after did you get the pain? There are no warnings I can find about taking it along with dayquil. Have you had weird reactions between acetaminafin and ibuprofen in the past?

If there is heartattack or stroke history in your family there might be cause for concern.
