I got back from tour the day before yesterday. It's nice to be home! Here is

Our first stop was Pittsburgh, and it could have been a great show. The venue was really cool and a lot of people came out. Unfortunately, the three bands that opened for us had no concept of time, apparently, and we didn't go on stage until after one in the morning by which time practically everybody had left. I was so irritated (not to mention tired from the long-ass drive) by the time we went on that I didn't even feel nervous. We played well and the few people that stayed seemed into it. My bandmates assured me that it could only go uphill from there, but they were wrong because our next stop was Akron!

We played at this really shitty dive bar that seemed better suited to metal bands than anything else. There were ten people there tops. Some drugged out chick dragged a couch to the stage area and watched the show wrapped in a blanket. She came up to us afterward and was gushing about how much she loved the show and she bought a CD with a CHECK. It was bizarre.

Next up was Buffalo which was by far my favorite. We stayed at this cute little hotel in Clarence (where, incidentally, I just read a plane crashed into a house yesterday or something!) that looked like nobody had redecorated since the 70s. The venue was really great and we actually got our first and only real soundcheck. While we were setting up, I noticed a signed Smog poster hanging on the wall which was pretty exciting. I have played on the same stage as Bill Callahan! It was Marie-Claire's birthday and while we were setting up some middle aged lady with crazy 80s hair came and gave her a cupcake and said it was her birthday too. That was pretty great. The show went really well. The sound was good and a lot of people watched us and were into it and we sold like five CDs and made more money from the venue than any other night. Marie-Claire got super drunk and was cracking us all up by jumping into snowdrifts outside of our hotel room and yelling "I got rights!" over and over.

The next day we had a day off so we drove eight hours to our hotel outside of Boston. We spent pretty much the entire time we were in Boston watching trash TV at the hotel. It was great. The show was super lame, though. Not a lot of people came out to begin with, but the band that played before us was so unbelievably bad that literally everybody left except for people who worked there and people from the other band. The sound was crazy when we played and all I could hear was my electric piano which was really freaking me out. I was really stressed out the whole time we played and was happy to get out of there.

Luckily, our next show was much better. It was in Manhattan and people showed up and there was a press person there who gave us a really good review and we saw Kirsten Dunst outside the venue which was funny. I think we played really well that night and all of us had friends there which was nice.

After that we played in DC which was hilariously pointless. We played at this bar in the middle of the ghetto and nobody came so we didn't get paid. The band who played after us was almost as bad as the band from Boston and Marie-Claire was drunkenly hating on them to me throughout their entire set, but then we felt bad because they were really nice and helped us carry our equipment back to the van.

The next day we went to our hotel in a random city in Pennsylvania for our day off before our last show in Brooklyn. After we got back from eating and drinking at the hotel bar we came back to our room only to learn that our show was canceled. We were pissed because a dude from a big European label was supposed to come to that show to check us out. Also, we could have been on our way home. Instead we ended up watching Deep Blue Sea on HBO which was incredible. The next day we left early and made it back to Chicago around 8:00 which was nice. Now I've got a month of Starbucks before our west coast tour!
