I am having trouble with some of the calculus problems of my first bimester project. I was wondering if I could get some guidance. I am currently taking pre-calculus, and cannot make head or tail of this. These are 3 problems I cannot solve:

1.  List all points (x,y) whose coordinates are integer numbers simultaneously satisfying the inequalities: ( Read more... )

17.

both x1 and x2 are solutions of the quadratic equation

3 * x2 - h * x - b = 0

therefore the sum x1 + x2 equals the sum of the roots of this equation, which is h/3.

^__^ Thank you very much. You make this sound so simple, but my poor little brain can't wrap itself around it. >:

2.

f(0 + 0) = f(0) * f(0), so f(0) = 1

5 = f(2) = f(1 + 1) = f(1) * f(1) = f(1)2

so f(1) = square root of 5

f(5) = f(1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1) = f(1) * f(1) * f(1) * f(1) * f(1) = 5^(5/2)

f(6) = f(2 + 2 +2) = f(2)3 = 53 = 125

f(-6) = 1/f(6) = 1/125
