Copycat Costumes

I guess it depends on the situation. If they are inspired by your costume, and want one like it, that is one thing. If they want to steal your attention or one-up you, that is another. That just sound like the kind of person they are. Not matter what hobby you partake in, you will find someone like that.

If it really bothers you, you could say to them, "Hey if you are going to make the same costume I have, let just make sure we coordinate not to wear it at the same event or at the same time."

Someone locally has a costume I've wanted to make for years! But, I've pushed making down my list since we have that costume locally. But truth is, there are only so many costumes, especially if you like Leia's costumes.

Hope that helps your thinking. It's an interesting thing to ponder.

Thanks Lesa for the comment. No of course, I have absolutely no problems at all with someone’s costume that inspires you; I can perfectly understand that. When I see what beautiful costumes are made, I to feel the inspiration to begin on all of them.

Now that I had my vacation I feel much more relaxed about the situation now. She can do whatever she wants. I don't care anymore. If she wants to be so childish to copy-cat somebody else’s costumes while there are so many other beautiful costumes from SW, than that is her decision. I'm not going to spend any more energy in bothering :).

Good for you...that's what we have to do sometimes is just flex our attitude on these things. It's not always easy though.
