Arguing - that is, intellectually - is one of my least favourite things to do. Discussion, however, is one of my favourites. But it seems a particularly bad trait of LSE people that they want to argue. You put forward a thesis, and they rip it to shreds. What rubbish! I think the tendency to care too much about argument and to want to argue is one of the things that pisses me off in academic philosophy. Especially when it's transparently about winning and dominance.
