Boy, thanks alot on the name thing, helped out a ton. :)

Opening lead---I know I am leading a trump, and will prolly table the A so I can see what hits the table in dummy.

On the 1N forcing, I am not sure I would have bid, but had I bid 1NF and partner jumps to 3D, I am saying 4D. In your methods would 4D show stronger hand?

oops, re-reading my post, I am NOT bidding 4D, I thought I had 5D when in fact it was 5C. Ok, I still do not think I bid 1N, but had I, I would have bid the same as you presented.

The Ace of trumps will surely guarantee a defeat...the dummy hits with:
void
xx
KJxxx
KJTxxx

So as long as you get your heart tricks, you are safe. Unfortunately, Declarer held SKQ so can ruffing finesse your SA for a heart pitch and make 5 if you lead something else...
Obviously a high heart will work too. What fails is:
any club, any non-Ace diamond, any spade

C'est la vie...

Regarding that other hand - I saw your reply to your own reply about not raising diamonds. yes, in our methods 4D would be stronger than 5D....but that is obviously irrelevant on the hand.

I just took a preference. I think not bidding 1NTF is okay too...but you'll miss a decent game. problem is, too, you'll sometimes get to a bad slam...like this one. oh well.
