I hated the movie. I thought the book series was excellent, but when it came time for the movie, they wrote half the script, and then just said "nah" to the rest of the book. It was just stupid. It also made me hate Samuel Jackson - it felt like he was just chewing the scenery and trying too hard. The whole experience felt like a callous disregard for the book. I can't imagine that the author was pleased. Honestly, it's the worst book-to-movie translation I've ever experienced, and I'd rather just forget that it even happened.
