I've been thinking a bit recently about DDR and such. I have been doing notably worse and worse at DDR, and am having less and less fun with it. I think that the problem is the lack of community, and fun songs. The solution? Move back to Bakersfield, and get more fun songs to play ( Read more... )

I stopped enjoying DDR a couple years ago, actually. And you're partly right, it IS largely about the community. The machine itself wasn't so fulfilling as the company that was with it. :)

The other reason I stopped enjoying it is the same reason I show off on it and don't give a rat's ass about FC's and AAA's anymore. I was too concerned with competitive scoring to ACTUALLY HAVE FUN. Then, I tried something really profound.

I started looking for spots in stepcharts to show off with. Spin around. Slide. To hell with 'AA's and 'AAA's, if it means not having fun. If the point of playing a game is not to have fun, what use is it?! <-Ironically, any time I get 'AAA's, is when I'm LEAST trying for them. The songs are PLENTY fun, just don't be afraid to have FUN with them ( ... )

I'm not lookin to make money. I'll let the arcade keep the money, as long as I keep the keys for the machine (for free plays).

hey tyler, this is jessica..I just got livejournal and i remebered that you had one so I'd thought i'd comment you. I hope you keep this when you go away to college, that way we can keep in touch.
