Interesting excerpt

I was just reading this book, "Guards! Guards!" by Terry Pratchett, that I'm borrowing from a friend of mine. This excerpt really caught my attention because I think it pretty well sums up how I feel about the current president and administration. that's why Terry Pratchett is great. he lets you know what's up, and then lets you know that it's always been that way. makes your plight seem less unique, and therefore neither shameful nor truely threatening.

however, it still sucks that you can't do anything about it.

PS: finally called jackie and got the present. i absolutely COULDN'T forget on my birthday :P i like it a lot. now my room won't smell AS MUCH like smoke when i come home from coffee, reeking like an ashtray.

Awesome. Now all you have to deal with is dad freaking out about your room smelling like things other than ashtray. Hey... I know you'll NEVER see this with the crappy ISP you use at the P's house, but if you do... how would you feel about coming down here for a week to vacation/job-hunt? Most of the stuff I'm finding is being taken just as quickly as it opens, but it could easily be taken by anyone. So, there's nothing worth reporting because it will be filled by the time you get here to check it out, but the rotation of open jobs is pretty constant.

it seems to be that case in so many eras of the most corrupt governments.. the people blindly follow. it's scary. it's scary it that it's most likely inevitable.
