It occurs to me that I've been spending far more time on tumblr than on lj or dw recently. That's likely to swing back in the near future, but I see on my flist/dwircle (I hate that term) that some of you are starting to jump on tumblr. So, if you want to find me, here I am:

I'm not sure I'll ever feel the need to set up a Tumblr account, but I will certainly check yours out :)

The thing to know about tumblr is that it moves much, much faster than lj -- people post eight, nine, ten times a day. So if you're just looking at one tumblr (e.g. mine), you might see like, five posts in a row about basically the same thing, because that's how conversations are carried out on tumblr.

It's unwieldy, but it's how fans have decided to use it.

Yeah -- it can be difficult; there are days when I fear for the future, but then it's an *awful lot of them* all at once, so it feels worse than it probably is.

Tumblr skews younger (MUCH, MUCH YOUNGER)...

So very young. I'm not on Tumblr myself, but I have a folder full of relevant ones to keep up with, and they regularly cause me pain. The two top knife-in-the-aged-heart comments of this week were, "Oh, I've heard of The Bionic Man! My grandparents watched that!" and "I couldn't see the Lord of the Rings movies in the theater. I was a baby." Augh!
