Taking the ACT... at 42 years of age.

Feb 23, 2012 12:12

In order to move on to the next round of interviews for a tutor/teaching job, I have to TAKE THE ACT.

#1 -- I took the SAT, not the ACT, and they are not the same.
#2 -- I took the SAT TWENTY-FOUR YEARS AGO.

... I am going to have to learn trig all over again.

What is my life.

Well, the SAT isn't the same SAT as when you took it before, anyway. They changed the format a few years after I took it, a few years after you did. I took both the SAT & ACT - I remember the ACT being much easier, for some reason. I did decently but not exceptionally on the SAT, but I had one of the top five scores in my school for the ACT.

Yeah, but the ACT has science on it. The SAT does not. Plus the math on the SAT is stuff I can still do to this day. ACT has math that I don't remember how to do.

Ugh.

Oh, yuck. I know the feeling--I wound up taking the French reading exam for graduate degrees four different times, and passed it each time--just kept letting the time run out before finishing the degrees (finally! I did get them, but had to learn French verbs all over every few years). Still, relearning trig would be worse.
