Taking the ACT... at 42 years of age.

Feb 23, 2012 12:12

In order to move on to the next round of interviews for a tutor/teaching job, I have to TAKE THE ACT.

#1 -- I took the SAT, not the ACT, and they are not the same.
#2 -- I took the SAT TWENTY-FOUR YEARS AGO.

... I am going to have to learn trig all over again.

What is my life.

The ACT is SIGNIFICANTLY easier than the SAT. I remember just studying the tiny practice question pamphlet they pass out in the counselor's office. And the science is really basic science. You'll do wonderfully.

I ran like the goddamned wind from the SAT and took the ACT instead, because my state allowed it. As above commenter said, the science of the ACT is very, very easy. In fact, it focuses mostly on your ability to read graphs.

Ew.

I tried a few years back to re-learn all the math I'd forgotten so that I could take the test to get into a master's program. Twenty years after high school, I can't remember a damn thing.

I barely passed that test. Stupid math.
