1) I am SO reobsessed w/ Notre Dame de Paris, having actually seen the DVD now. Gringoire's voice = LOVE!!! Actually, the whole thing IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! It's really different than American musicals. Watch it, y'all. Oh, but I'm really sad, b/c I now know how few songs are on the CD. Yes, though apparently the only version out is the new ITV version. And, according to Mock the Week, ITV is horrible. Though, I know one of them had Rose from Dr. Who in it...though I think it was Mansfield Park, not Northanger...

NOTRE DAME DE PARIS ROCKS MY SOCKS.
Personally, I've never liked Austen, but then again the only book of hers I've even looked at was Emma, and I just could not get over my absolute hatred of her writing style in that...but that was five page long bits of dialogue with no explanation who the heck was talking and where/when they were.

I just finished Emma (it took me about two months). While a good story, it lacked the sympathetic characters that are ususally the heroines of Austen novels, and it would have GREATLY benefited from being cut 200 pages. Read Pride and Prejudice, that's the classic, and Northanger Abbey b/c it's so amusing.
NOTRE DAME DE PARIS IS MY ONE TRUE LOVE!!!!!!!!!
