This is conversion stuff - I don't really have classes with any regularity, so the consequence is that in order to prove I've actually done the reading, I have to write stuff. I don't always form it into essays though, because while not difficult per se, it is tedious and time-consuming. I thought it slightly more important to spend that time on my finals/thesis/ulpan. I imagine living in London you'll have formal classes a lot more teaching and a lot less writing-to-prove-you've-read. My classes aren't mostly about teaching new things, but checking I've done the work set. The Edinburgh ones, which had a group of people, were different - there they had a topic you found out on the day and were taught about for a couple of hours, but you can do that with numbers.

Israel is just Hebrew, nothing in English at all.
