Here we go again...

8 months after starting my new life as someone-with-a-job-and-no-schoolwork, it's back to the books. I decided last summer/fall not to apply to CRNA school last November. I was totally overwhelmed by my new job and new life and studying for the GRE and the idea of starting back to class in a year just didn't seem very appealing ( Read more... )

That does suck about Will's leg. I know if Scott ever broke his leg, my life would be overwhelmingly busy tending to him. He doesn't do "sick" well.

Study tips, yes...
1. The math isn't as hard as maybe you think it will be. Just do an hour or so the week before the test and you'll be OK.
2. Vocabulary.
3. Vocabulary.
4. Vocabulary.
5. If you get a chance, study the vocab list a little more.

In all seriousness, that's the part where I really had to work. The words on the GRE are not words that one uses on a daily basis, even if you are a fairly well-educated person. Use flash cards, drill, whatever helps. I'm almost positive that I boosted my verbal score by at least 100 points just by the extensive amount of studying I did.

I bought a $30 Princeton Review book and found it quite helpful. It's a good investment and will resell on eBay or half.com quite nicely.

Good luck!

I just bought the book Cracking the GRE and there are soooooooooo many vocab words in there! It's great, but very overwhelming.... again I feel like an idiot. I'm trying to spend time with those words and do a little math every night. I guess I waited a little too long to start studying but I had to set a date to take the thing or I'd be taking it the week before my application is due. Thanks for the advice and continuing good wishes going your way for the wedding!

Ask your husband to update about the recovery of his leg.

Good luck on the studying.

good luck! Manuel is studying for the GRE too! it is a ridiculous test. and here, they won't even think about accepting you without a certain score, when high school algebra has so little to do with most subjects! i can't even figure out some of the analogies, and i'm a native speaker of English. :( before i took it, i studied out of a book too, think it was Princeton.
