Speaking just for me:

Sounds like you're assuming I haven't already done all the thinking and research and made an informed decision. I am informed. I have weighed the pros and cons, and I choose to remain an omnivore because my body actually functions best when I eat a good balance of veggies plus a good deal of red meat. One theory about why this might be is described in "Eat Right For Your Type" by Dr. D'Adamo. I am blood type O Negative.

So, no, I probably won't follow the links.

I hoped you'd comment!

I've been meaning to ask you for sometime what information you have on the blood type diet. You've talked about it before but I've been unable to find any information supporting Dr. D'Adamo's research (besides his own).

It would be uber cool if you could give me some links towards accredited websites or publications that have published reviews of his research.

The main "research" that convinced me was that 1) many of his food recommendations (though not all) coincide with my food allergies, and 2) when I eat a diet primarily consisting of meat based protein I feel good, do not test anemic when I donate blood, and feel more energetic. Also, my bad cholesterol has never been high on such a diet.

I point out that I described D'Adamo's POV as a "theory" but I said in my original comment that "I choose to remain an omnivore because my body actually functions best when I eat a good balance of veggies plus a good deal of red meat."

I'm not sure why my polite request - that you could have ignored - has got you so hostile. I'm not asking you to give up your foie gras or veal - just better conditions for them - some sort of happy medium. Perhaps some societal acknowledgment that what we do to others affects US negatively. Human rights and animal rights go hand in hand.

I followed the first link and looked at the "happy cow" myth slide show. Yuck!

Well, shoot! Now I feel extra bad about saying that "cruelty tastes SO good" and laughing when Ron said "Meat is murder....sweet, sweet murder!"

That's exactly what I want people to think about.

There's nothing intrinsically wrong with animals eating animals. It's the callousness that our society treats other living beings that is so obscene and objectionable.

Ah, it gets worse and worse. Now, we are "obscene" if we choose to ignore the information you so thoughtfully decided to share with us.

P.S. DR - Threadless.com sells a t-shirt with saying, though I think it's "tasty, tasty murder" not "sweet, sweet murder."

Really?

Just because you didn't follow my link you're obscene? Where did I say that?

I thought I said that the way society - not playmayt or ubbercatta or any specific person - treats food animals is obscene.

I've never said that eating animals is obscene - just the way we CURRENTLY get them to the plate.

And if you don't want to follow links then don't follow them. Nothing wrong with that.
