I'd be interested in knowing if it's any good (i.e. really tastes like "real" challah) simply because my roommate and I rarely manage to finish the bananas we keep buying before they are THAT ripe!
Possibly .. although I'm finding that I'm not overly fond of bananas as a binder for baking. I saw on another blog somewhere where they took the same recipe and replaced the banana with applesauce.
So far my baking experiments are on un-yeasted things. I'm not a very good baker and am intimidated by yeast.
Well, you have got to be better than I am. I shudder to think of some projects of mine (fortine cookies for one!!!!) that have gone very very wrong even without yeast!
I just can't imagine challah (Italian bakeries call their versions "ebb bread") without eggs.
I've thought about making fortune cookies .. with silly/naughty fortunes inside.
I've made bread before ... but it's always too dense for me(this was pre-veg). Pizza dough is about the only yeasted thing I've ever made somewhat successfully.
