My one experience with this ended in disaster and heartbreak, but that doesn't mean some other couple couldn't make it work, i guess.

did yr relationship start poly or turn that way over time? how long was the relationship? heartbreak sucks, i hate it.

ideally it sounds like a good idea but it ALWAYS ends up bad. someone always gets hurt. but i say if people want to do it, go for it.

i like to think i'm an ethical slut, haha.

as long as both people are clear on the rules and everyone follows them it can be wonderful

i know we're both 100% on board & i think we have stellar communication, so hopefully we can make this work. i think partly it's because A has only slept with one lady (that'd be me) and she's curious & well, you know i've always been slutty in my head. heh heh.

My experience with it was positive. But it turned into monogamy after 8 months. So... Can't give you the long term outlook. Short-term was fun.

thank god a positive comment...! we've been monogamous (sp? wtf) for nearly 7 years now. after discussing (as mindcrime414 says above) all of our ideas, concerns, curiosities & "rules," i feel like a huge weight has been lifted. i think it's possible to have a "number one" with occasional flings, i guess. we've decided to try it, but to also speak up as soon as someone gets jealous/feels upset, etc. i dunno. i'm not sold on monogamy anymore...
