The HomeBrew Robotics Club had their monthly meeting today. Instead of at CMU West, it was at the TechShop. I've been considering getting a membership there, so I made sure I went. The basic premises of the facility is like a gym membership, but instead of health equipment, they have things that might kill you like mig welders and laser cutters. ( Read more... )

Did any of these guys compete with their robots in the Grand Challenge? I seem to recall that the Homebrew Robotics Club had an entry, but maybe I'm confusing it with some other group.

Yay for the stereotypical geek archetypes for tech meetings!

I can't say because I don't know. It didn't come up, and none of the show and tell robots were big enough to be a car.
