I've been promoted at work effective November 1st. I'm now an SRE - Level 2 with all the rights and privileges afforded someone of that title.

I've known for a while, but I was waiting until I emailed my parents before posting so they won't find out here first.

Congratulations! Do you get any cool new powers now that you have leveled up?

No, not really. There's not that much distinction between adjacent levels. I'm working on the same projects I was before, now I'm probably expected to finish them quicker and be more awesome.

I also have all the super powers I could want here. I have root access to more machines than most people outside my team.
