Peter Gabriel flagrantly plaigirizes Stevie Wonder! Listen to Gabriel's "Sledgehammer" and tell me that ISN'T the brassy trumpet hook from "Superstition"!!! Thief!

Although Coolio and Will Smith never were too shy to ask Stevie for some hooks!

First off, it's EXACT. Maybe a different key, but the same horn riff. And second of all, sampling a song and looping it as the central theme of another song (even if it *is* a crappy, toothless audio-commercial for your equally shitty movie) is way different than straight-up copping a key riff and jamming it into a totally different context.

But just to set the record straight, I'm not hating on Peter Gabriel. "Sledgehammer" brought back the echo-y Indian flute in a way that wouldn't be matched until Enigma's "Return to Innocence". Or Chief Thunder from Killer Instinct. Damn that was a cool game. Kilgore was my favorite character. And he DEFINITELY had the best theme song on the free promo CD. Total industrial metal! RAWK!

Anyway, not hating. Just stating.
