I know, I know, it's been forever.  And I still have two papers to write for my internship class before I go to bed at 11 so I can get up at 5:30 am tomorrow.  But who said a little (more) procrastination ever hurt anyone?

I'll keep this post slim, down to the vital details:

"AWESOME NEW MUSIC YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO: ... My Chemical Romance, ...

Cred = MINUS TEN THOUSAND

I'll give you the positive points for everything else, though, so you break even this time. Other than that grievous reference to high-school-screamo-pop-punk crap it was a very good list. But unfortunately such transgressions can't go unpunished.

That aside, sounds like you're having a good time. Spitz commandos rock rock on!

OK, maybe MCR doesn't belong on the "awesome" list. But honestly, compared to the rest of their genre, their album is pretty good. Musically it's nothing special, but their frontman is amazing. I really dig his delivery, some of his songwriting's not bad, and most of all, he just ROCKS OUT with this theatrical intensity and energy I've never seen amongst pop-punk nerds. He loves to perform, and I've gotta give him credit for that.

But yeah, probably a bad call to list MCR as "awesome". I stand corrected.

p.s. if I recommend Regina Spektor, do I get my cred points back?

You know, I didn't really like "Summerteeth" as a whole, I'd *hardly* call Ted Leo and the Pharmacists new, and "Smile" ROCKS- so nice to know that it's possible to overcome outright insanity and still be a musical genious...

Well, everyone's entitled to their opinion, even if that opinion is wrong, because Summerteeth is brillant and makes my life better and defines me as a person. And Ted Leo's "Shake the Sheets" is relatively new, or at least new to most of my friends.
