So... umm... why is it special that it's July 4th, and why are there fireworks?

The fourth of July is Independence Day, when America decided it wasn't going to be Britain's little colony bitch any more. And in celebration of actually kicking ass, taking names and wining, people decide to blow things up as is the American way!

I'm sorry you had to hear what this day had to mean from those two. It actually isn't that bad. Just some people want to be complete jerks and ruin it for others.

But, yeah, that's what this day means - when the 13 American colonies stood up and fought for their independence against the oppression of the British Empire. It feels weird celebrating it here, since we're all trapped here, but it doesn't help but to have some sort of pride in where we come from.

Heh, who knows? Maybe one day, we'll celebrate an Independence Day for the Digital World?!
