Wow, Ubermaus! I was just saying something nice about you in my journal the other day. I'm glad to hear you're at Rutgers, that's great news. Were you there last year as well? I had two doctoral student friends who lived in New Brunswick for about three or four years, but they've just gone back to Canada.

Actually, I moved down from Connecticut in August, after finishing my MA there.

On the bright side, there seems to be no shortage of Canadians here. My roommate for example: a tall, bearded man who carefuly cultivates his awesome aura of unkempt-ness (think: lumpy purple cardigans with nylon elbow patches), will gladly discuss Francis Burney as long as anyone is willing to listen, and has been known to spend the evening drinking brandy while sitting in the kitchen with the lights off, facing the wall.
