Christmas Time is coming

I'm trying to decide whether to spend this Christmas with the family, or somewhere warm and nice... Mexico, Cuba, the Bahamas.... anywhere away from here really. Have any of you guys done it? Did your family hate you afterwards?

I haven't really done the whole Christmas alone and away from the family. The closest I came was this past Christmas when Mum and I went to Las Vegas. The rest of the family didn't seem to be upset but then again things were different. My brother and his wife were in South Korea. I think your family would be disappointed if you went away alone but perhaps they wouldn't be so upset if you went with a friend or two. They might understand a bit better then. I personally say go away, its an adventure and if you can do it then go for it. The family will get over it if they are upset. I however couldn't go alone, not at Christmas. This Christmas as is will be hard for me since it looks like I will be heading to Sask to be with the boyfriend's family. It will be the first time I have been away from my family during the season. Not really looking forward to that.
