We went to see watchmen last night, which I really rather enjoyed. Seeing as everyone else has talked about this, I will too!

It was a lot more violent than I expected - one of the more visceral films I have seen. Kit and I had identical 'hands over eyes, sharp intake of breath' at quite a few points. ( Joris probably didn't. Phlegmatic dutchman). ( Read more... )

but I have to be VERY careful to avoid spending too much time on the internet, and make sure the majority of my time is spent actually painting!!

And Laurie was such a useless cipher of a female character it made me a bit cross. But I did like a lot of the cinematography.

This pretty much sums up my feelings on the film. And of course I wasn't wild about the choices made in the shooting of the attempted rape scene.

Yeah..the rape scene weirdly got sexy half way through. Disturbing.

Read it and loved it! Gorgeous photo and the painting is beautiful too - in an entirely different way, you'll be glad to hear :p I have very fond memories of the sun burning through the mists on the Somerset levels with Glastonbury Tor looming over it all :)

Glad you like :). Should have known you'd recognise these ones! always forget you're a West Country lass.

I hope you mean "went overboard" in the sense of "took time away from painting", and not in the sense if "no one will read this", because I enjoyed reading today's mammoth very much. I know, I know, tons of artists write about their experience with art, but it's different when it's someone you know at least a little. Maybe it's something like painting from a photo you've taken yourself. :-)

I think it was a bit long :p

But yes..I don't begrudge the time spent writing it - more the time I spend watching the hit counter afterwords :p

Really glad you are enjoying it, it's a good incentive to keep writing it. As long as a couple of people like reading it, I think it's worth doing.
