[I got into one of those confounded political circle-jerks on Facebook (with someone who stooped to pseudo-argumentative devices that disappointed me, coming from him). I ended up typing a response that-even after aggressive editing-was a bit long-winded for a FB comment. Here is a more broadly worded, and expanded variation of the full version.]

It's pretty fruitless to argue with an idiolog. On both sides there seem to be people that feel that their party can do no wrong.

Oh, and I don't know of anyone who doesn't have some skellitons when they get to be Obama's or Biden's ages. I just don't understand some people some times.

Sadly, it is quite impossible to get into the position of being a major presidential candidate, without playing at least a little dirty. It's the old competition factor.
