Not having seen any spoilers for the finale airing tomorrow, I've no clue what's going to happen. But I have a few ideas...especially since it's been promised as an emotional roller coaster.
1) The last spoilers I heard from the Torchwood TV blog were not correct, but were a confusion of actual events. 2) I think the rumors about the dumbing down of the show are a crock. Especially as the notoriously indiscreet James Marsters commented in a recent interview that he expected to be doing more Torchwood in the future (he likes it!).
I'm...jealous of the above posters apparently spoiled state! Sometimes I hate spoilers...but most of the time I love them. :3 I used to read spoilers for West Wing (okay..I'll be honest, I mostly read them for a certain *coughjoshdonnacough* couple, really), I read'em now for Bones, for The Office...pretty much whatever (when I can find'em). :D
Anyhoo...it's not bad if I say I hope Rhys dies? Although I don't think my feelings about Rhys are anything new to you. Like, he's not a bad character, I just don't buy his relationship with Gwen. Even if there were absolutely nothing between her and Jack, I still wouldn't buy it.
:( I don't want Owen to kick it (Yeah, yeah, he already technically has...you know what I mean!). As episodes go, meh, I've liked the season well enough...but what I loved about this season is that I've come to actually care about both Owen and Tosh. I absolutely loathed both of them last season; I felt Owen was too much of a tool (but not in the love to hate him kind of way) and Tosh too boring. But now I love
( ... )
you just are dead set on jack and gwenubersaurusApril 4 2008, 06:12:26 UTC
Jack and Spike not hot enough to compare? ;p
I liked Tosh from the get go, though this may be because of the Doctor Who connection. Owen I hated until he died, and then I realized how much I actually liked the character!
If Ianto dies I quit the show. Seriously. I need Ianto like I need air. I spent a large portion of today during classes trying to decide why I find such a weak and overly emotional character so attractive and I just don't know!
If Rhys dies, that's fine. I love him and I love his relationship with Gwen but you know what, I really feel she is settling for Rhys because Jack has never stepped forward and ever given a solid definition to his feelings for her, so I can understand her insecurity. I think it's really key how she said to the shape shifter that she needed someone who could tell her that they loved her. She's got to have some insecurities since it seems like Jack falls in love with everything that moves so why should she think she is anything special (but I think she is!).
Ianto's going to get his poor little heart broken but that's the chance you take with Jack.
OH MAN I LOVED OWEN'S BACKSTORY. Fucking amazing. I loved everyone's backstory, really, but his was stellar.
I doubt I'll make myself popular here, but I'll go ahead and say that I hope it's not Ianto and I hope it's not Rhys.
If it's Owen...I'm okay with that. His character has been so completely emasculated this season that he's almost not even the same guy - it's like a different guy with the same name, played by the same actor. I remember complaining about Owen being such an ass in season 1, but the thing is, he was a character I looked forward to disliking intensely. Now he's just...nondescript. And the walking dead thing just hasn't changed that for me.
So if we're going to off anybody, let's off Owen. He's 3/4 of the way there already!
I think he's got to go eventually. I loved him in season 1 but him dying hasn't emasculated him, it's just... well, literally killed him. He can't feel and really, that's quite boring. They've gone to such lengths to keep him in the storyline, though, that I'd find it difficult they'd off him right now. We've already "lost" him and grieved and been through that whole thing so I don't think they'll rehash it before his character does anything useful or interesting. It's got to be someone else, though I think he'll be lost at some point in the future.
Wrong... I find it funny that you call him Spike instead of John... Right... Wrong and Right... Not really.... Very True... You got that backwards, completely backwards. Just reverse it and it's right... Sorry, but no.

Terribly sorry. But, I didn't really have any predictions. But, we really should have seen one thing coming: Cardiff go BOOM! Always have to end the season with a big bang.

Good question; do they still order pizza from that place, or what?

I'm really surprised Rhys didn't get offed. After his little speech at the police station, I was sure of it.
You never posted up your predictions! I can't judge their accuracy!
