Thats a lesson I'm constantly learning more about each day. To put what you said in other words, If you try too hard to please people, you're just going to overwhelm yourself so much that you can't please anyone, not even yourself, and when you get to that point, you're scratching your head wondering where all those people are that you helped, but for some reason, they're too busy or whatever to notice you're reaching out. Most of the time it isn't intentinal, but it does happen, and it hurts. You just gotta pick your battles, but always make sure you're at least somewhat content before you attempt to help pick other peoples battles. Funny how no one really thinks that that is happening to them, until it hits rock bottom. to quote a band...

"If theres one thing I've learned it's that we never feel the heat until we get burned"
