i think you'll love making bread with the machine. you'll find that the taste is different, and if you make sourdough the crunch will be different. but all in all you'll love the different things you can do with it. i miss making bread quite a bit. i loved having my hands in the dough. that's one of the reasons that i make scones when i get depressed. makes me feel like i'm doing something creative.
