It was a good thing I got my plane tickets before I read about all the poisonous creatures that live there, including the spiders! I didn't have any spider sightings.. but I think I'd rather come across a big harmless spider than a small venomous one.
Australia was interesting. My recommendation is to go there for the scenery, not the cities.
That is great news!! When did you buy? If you are so close to Svaj is it even worth having an apt when you can just spend all your time there? I found the Svaj menu card a little while back in my desk and spent several minutes having very vivid day dreams about sipping lattes on the pillows.
Are you still working as a designer at that clothing company?
I guess with all that going on Japan wasn't such a priority. There is always next year. Or you can go to Australia, but I warn you, everything is poisonous... even the Duckbill Platypus is venomous!! It's a crazy place with weird animals. All of them hop! Kangaroos, Wallabies, mice and possums, all of them....
The Great Barrier Reef really was a great place. Probably one of the best parts of the trip was learning about the ecology of the reef and diving.
My attempt to go to the rock was an unmitigated disaster so I'll refrain from comment on that. Other people seemed to either love it or hate it.

Did you make it to Japan this summer?

Yeah, I'd love to see the great barrier reef once, and the big rockthingie in the middle of the dessert.
No, I bought an apt in central Stockholm instead (like 75m from svaj), so all my money went to that ;)
