But that's a human rights issue and shouldn't be a left/right one. Shamefully the only Huntsman and now Obama say they'd support civil unions. No one has the backbone to be pro-Gay marriage AND lead on the National level yet.

Where the left tends to screw over our civil liberties, is on issues like privacy, individual ( Read Poor) property rights and high fees/taxes** ( that again screw the poor) to discourage things they don't want. Also in the past decade the far left has begun to chip away at free speech, something the far right used to be exclusive about. when it disagrees with their world view.
