A Creature of Extraordinary Grace

I've had no creativity lately. I still can't write, but ... I got the art thing to happen this week. I'd been wanting to do something Firefly for a while, and the prompt at still_grrr to do something for Serenity struck a cord.

So it's River in all her kick-ass glory [Click for bigger]:

Oooo, perty.

And I like your River/Dollhouse insight - definitely has the ring of the real to it.

Thanks!

I was thinking, "Girl you can program to have skills so you can have the perfect _____. Hmmm. Where have I seen this before?" And that means Echo will follow River's path and break programming and use the skills for herself (which the series has been hinting at anyway).

Don't suppose it's a huge surprise that the main pic in your lovely art looks much like Eliza Dushku - not even a lot of squinting required. Wonder if Joss knows.

I hadn't thought of that because I very strongly see River (she's a fave character of mine). Now if Echo picks up a sword and an axe (hey, Alpha likes his knife) ...

I see what you mean by the resemblance though - the look of determination Faith would get at times.

Hi,
I thought you might be interested in listening to this documentary interview about Ursula K(roeber) Le Guin. She has to be in the alltime top five writers OF ALL GENRES.

I hope you're able to listen, and that the link actually works via this forum. Also still loving you're very imaginative writing, even though I haven't had any time to make the kinds of comments I like to make.

Thanks for the link. I got to meet her a few years ago (and fannishly ask her to sign books), and she's also very nice.
