Slightly off kilter

Shit, no matter how many times I rework this chord progression, it still ends up sounding like 'Drive' by Incubus.

Why? )

I always found it an amusing thought that we were the only animals intelligent enough to want -- hell, need -- a purpose to our lives, and so as such we take advantage of that intelligence to create a purpose for life. Of course, I'm of the mindset that life is essentially a lucky accident, and since we really have no proof otherwise, I'm willing to say that just because it's unlikely was certainly no reason for it not to happen somewhere.

At least that's my take on things.

Well, if you play a game of numbers, life is statistically very improbable, but when you have an infinite amount of space the improbable becomes probable. And its equally probable that when life does happen, its going to question why it exists, when that existence very well may be just a game of numbers. That said, there is a sense of motion within human society and within nature. We all know we're going somewhere, but we're not quite sure what our direction is.

The funny thing is when I asked that question to those urber religious-types they exclaim, "To serve God!"
So God created a whole universe just to satisfy his ego? That sounds rather vain and ungodly.
