"Have you seen Addison?" Callie asked, issuing the question to the group of people standing by the nurse's station.

"I think she's down in the waiting area," Meredith offered.

"Thanks." She chewed her cheek as she looked around, finally spotting Addison slumped in a chair near the fake potted plant in the corner.

"I heard the good news," Callie said, dropping unceremoniously into the free chair beside Addison's.

The redhead smiled. "I…I didn't think he'd pull through." Her eyes were swollen and pink from crying. "For all of my raving about Derek's godliness…he's just a man and Archer…" She sunk her teeth into her knuckle.

"Hey, let's get out of here, okay? I think you could do with being out of the hospital for a little while."

"I should stay…"

"They're under strict orders to page me if he should so much as blink. He's in good hands. C'mon."

Addison dutifully followed Callie out of the hospital.

Twenty minutes later, Callie parked and helped a blindfolded Addison out of the car. She guided her to the entrance of the building. "I offer to you, Addison Montgomery, the Callie Torres form of stress relief."

"Oh God. Is it a whorehouse?"

Callie nudged her with her hip. With a laugh she undid the blindfold.

"You took me to an arcade?" Addison blinked several times, staring at the plethora of flashing lights.

"Yep." Callie rocked on her heels beside her and grinned.

"My brother could die and you took me to an arcade?"

"He's not going to die. He's out of the woods and you're stressed out of your mind. And I think you've even," Callie tipped Addison's head in her direction and sifted her fingers through Addison's hair, "Yep. You've got some grays in there."

"Then we should be at a salon, not an arcade. Or at least a bar so I can drown my sorrows."

Throwing an arm over Addison's shoulder, Callie hugged Addison to her and ushered her into the spacious game room. "Listen. You need to take your mind off of what's going on. What better way than to shoot some aliens? Or ski ball? Or -- ooh, Dance Dance Revolution?"

Addison rolled her eyes. "You're way more in touch with your inner eight year old than I am, Cal. I don't have the energy for this."

Callie took Addison's face between her hands and looked into her eyes. "You need this, Ads. I promise it'll do you good. I've got one pocket full of quarters and another filled with nips. We'll buy some slurpees, spike 'em, and we'll blow my laundry money. What do you say?"

"I say I'm lucky to have a friend like you." Addison's red eyes filled with new tears and she stepped closer to Callie, wrapping her arms around the woman's midsection.

Callie rubbed her hands soothingly over Addison's back and vowed, as lights shone and sounds whirred around them, never to let her go again.
