Feeling Empty

My grandpa died today, he was 71 years old and was like a father to me. Anyone who knew him knew just how great of a man he was and how he loved to cut up and kid around and make everyone laugh. I feel like everything has been ripped out of me, and I can't stand this feeling.

It's going to hurt like hell for quite awhile, but slowly (really, really slowly) it will get better. Just keep your head up. Know that he loves you, and wouldn't want you to wallow in this.

I'm so sorry, Mindy. I know all too well what you mean. I still miss mine. But it gets easier with time and the knowledge that they will never again suffer through disease or anything else. If you need to talk, I'm here.
