whee, I'm lazy right now... It's Heero and Erii meeting.
Heero tried the door. It was open, so he headed in. Duo had mentioned that they had to move, and Heero had gotten the message on where he was staying, so he headed for his own hut. Carrying his bag with his good arm, he paused when he saw someone in the kitchen.
Erii looked up when she saw someone open the door. The boy looked to be about high school age. "Ah, konnichiwa!" she called out.
Heero nodded to her. "You're staying here, too?" he asked in his normal flat tone.
"Hai. Atashi ga Chuusonji Erii desu. Anata wa?"
"Heero Yuy..." He put his bag down next to the couch.
"Please to meet you, Heero-kun," Erii replied, smiling.
"Hn." He eased his jacket off, the right shoulder ruined with three holes and quite a bit of blood. Underneath, his tank top also had blood on the right strap, and his shoulder was bandaged up. He didn't seem overly concerned about it, though.
"Daijoubu?" Erii asked him, walking over.
Heero gave Erii a questioning look for a moment and then nodded.
"You know... you remind me of someone back home..." Erii commented
"Hn. Why is that?" He started going through his bag.
"Oh, he's kinda quiet... Doesn't want to open up to people." She paused. "Has a friend who he often sees as an annoyance."
Heero looked at her strangely for a moment and then placed the laptop carefully on a small table. "I see... How long have you been here?"
Erii thought for a moment. "A few weeks, I think. Not quite a month."
"Were others here already?" he asked.
Erii nodded. "Yeah... Including that idiot Kentarou..."
"Kentarou?" Heero wanted to make sure he knew who to avoid. He'd already met one at the barn earlier.
"Yeah... He's in hut 2. Don't know if you've met him... Although I thought I saw him talking to someone about getting married."
Heero blinked, about as much of a shocked reaction anyone would get from him. "Is he dating someone here?"
Erii sighed. "No. He thinks he's dating his friend back home... the one who reminds me of you."
"Oh." Heero made a slight face. "Has anyone here been able to go back home?"
"There have been a couple of people who have disappeared, but whether or not they got home, I don't know."
"Has anyone tried?"
"I believe that Tsukiyono-kun has been trying to use his GPS to figure out where we are..."
"Hn." Heero looked down at his laptop for a moment. He'd been able to access the small network the few that had laptops had set up wirelessly, but... nothing outside their small intranet. "Has it worked?"
"Apparently not." Erii sighed. "My instruments are not working either."
"I can't access any outside networks..."
Erii looked at the boy. "No one can access any outside networks. Otherwise Sukiyabayashi would've been here long ago to rescue me."
"But I got a message from Duo..." he said quietly, more to himself than Erii. "He did say that only people that were 'destined' to be here have been able to get messages from us so far." Heero was beginning to wonder if maybe he should have said something to someone about where he was going.
"I believe that Tsukiyono-kun also mentioned getting a message out to Naoe-kun before he got here. I can't help you there, though. Neither Kentarou or myself can contact Takeshi-kun or Sukiyabayashi-kun."
"Tsukiyono and Naoe..." Heero thought about the names for a moment. "You mean Omi and Nagi?" He remember the two younger ones in the barn calling each other that after introducing themselves to him. Omi had seemed really shaken up after they had managed to calm things down.
Erii nodded. "Tsukiyono Omi and Naoe Nagi," she confirmed.
Heero noted the name switch mentally. Traditional... He looked back at the laptop for a moment and then sighed slightly.
"So, you know someone here as well?" Erii asked, changing the subject.
Heero looked back at Erii and nodded. "Just one."
"Same here... well, sorta... I vaguely remember that the Sumeragi twins went to my school, but they were a year behind me."
"Hn. Duo's my teammate back home," he said.
"You could call Kentarou my teammate, I suppose," Erii mused. Unconsciously, she slid her hand along the mallet handle sitting next to her chair.
Heero noticed the movement, but said nothing of it. He'd react if he had to... however, she didn't seem like she was going to use the mallet on him. "Hn."
"Of course... I am the one in charge," she commented.
"Hn..."
"Your friend," Erii asked. "Is he the one with the long braid?"
Heero nodded. He supposed Duo could be considered his friend. As well as the others...
It was the closest he'd ever had to friends, anyway...
"I think that he and Kentarou were discussing Kentarou's basketball idea. Do you play?"
Heero shook his head. "I have... but Duo plays more than I do."
"Kentarou wants to create a team... I told him I'd help him with the court, but it looks like we may have to hope that one falls out of the sky like that farm did."
"Did someone here ask for a farm?"
"Not that I know of. I certainly didn't."
"Hn."
"Not a big talker, are you?" Erii asked.
Heero shrugged slightly and then winced a bit, having forgotten about the gunshots in his shoulder. "I've been called quiet..." he said. He shook his head, then, thinking to himself how he'd also been called other things. Duo had called him 'anti-social' that first night after he rescued him.
"It's a little hard to carry a conversation if only one person is speaking."
"Sorry..." He sat down. "I'm not good at this."
Erii smiled. "You do remind me a lot of Takeshi..." She kicked the mallet further under the table so he wouldn't see it... She didn't know why her pocket space wasn't working today... it was fine when she took it OUT yesterday...
Heero blinked, wondering at her strange movement. "Who's Takeshi?"
"Kentarou's partner back home. The one who you remind me of."
"Right."
Erii got an idea suddenly. "Tell me," she asked Heero. "Have you met Kairi-chan yet?"
Heero shook his head. "I haven't met many people here."
"Ah. She is also in this hut." Erii got a scary grin on her face. "And I've promised her that I'll protect her, so you'd better not hurt her," she warned.
"Why would I hurt her?" Heero asked flatly, as if it was clearly the last thing he was thinking.
"Oh, I wasn't thinking you would..." Erii stood up, and reached down and picked up her mallet, hoisting it over her shoulder. "I just wanted to make sure that you were clear on that." She walked into her room, closing the door behind her.
Heero raised an eyebrow slightly and then shook his head. Grabbing his bag with his good arm, he headed to see if there were any empty rooms for him to stay in.
