The "max amount your willing to spend" does factor into which hall they'd allocate you in.

200 pounds? you know it's rated per week, right? If you're willing to pay 200 pounds per week, you can get yourself a nice decent single apartment in a good area. Decent, but perhaps not spectacular because London housing can be a big sham. (I'd check gumtree.com to get some idea of the housing market here first.) There's also this place which should be opening up soon. It's actually right around James Lighthill House. But in regards to UCL student residences... )

There's a link to the main Nido site at the bottom of the article. It should tell you all you want to know about the pods there. The bathrooms at Max Rayne are shared between the sexes. And yes, laundry is 1.60. Judging from the accommodation booklet, John Dodgson looks really nice and the bathrooms resemble those at James Lighthill. The Economics dept. is extremely close to King's Cross, compared with the rest of the campus, so I think John Dodgson would be a good choice in your case. Have you tried looking at the discussion board on the UCL website at http://www.ucl.ac.uk/discussions/? I found it helpful when I was first starting school.

Also, undergraduates are fine. I didn't mean for the previous post to sound like a swipe against all undergrads. It just took a bit of getting used since I've been outside of the dormitory situation for quite some time now. I'm an ol' fogey who misses her own flat.
