So I really wanted to see the Donnie Darko Director's Cut when it was playing in Laguna Niguel I think and now it's not there anymore. The closest is in Pasadena or the Mann Chinese Theater and I don't want to drive that far, plus who knows how long they will have it for. I was curious to see it... oh well, I heard it wasn't that great anyway.

I know what you mean all these kids keep tellin me theyve seen it or own it and how they like it. As if it were a new thing. I liked it two years ago before all this bs,,, but now I get argued with about that. Its a good movie, i ahve the dvd, i dont think it includes the directors cut but oh well. I like it cause I do,,,, regardless of what its "supposed" to mean or who else likes it

There is no strict interpretation. Even if you listen to the commentary and deleted scenes and whatnot, it's pretty apparent that Richard Kelly and all who were involved with it aren't quite sure what it's about. Basically, the creator/s see(s) what has happened to the movie, and are building the hype up off of that.

I really hope that made sense.
