Life is hectic. Howard Hughes Teaching Fellowship is turning into a gigantic waste/timesink. I went to a conference on Friday, which only really had one good talk. Today, I'm scrambling to get a fellowship application together that totally won't get done on time and I wouldn't get anyway . . . and at the same time, I have to prepare a ( Read more... ) -

I turned 24 yesterday. Fun times. Pictures to come, but we just went to dinner (yay for gourmet mac and cheese) and then to Dave and Busters for some tipsy skeeball. And, I got surprised with Sprinkles cupcakes, as well as cake + card in lab ( Read more... ) -

With orientation for the new students just a week or two away, I guess it's official that I'm a second year grad student. I keep feeling like I'm in the "first year limbo," but I guess my limbo is less fuzzy than others, since I don't have more classes and I'm finished with my prelim.
