As far as cells could go, they could have given Cordelia Chase a worse one. She at least had a bed and a closed door instead of bars, after all. Still, a cell was a cell. You can only pretty it up so much without being reminded that, yes, you're still in a prison. When he was told to go see her, Lindsey was a little confused. What, was he supposed to go and comfort her or something? He'd rather shut it out of his head that he helped kidnap a girl and basically sentenced her to death, thanks ( ... )

Cordelia heard her name. She squeezed her eyes shut, hoping against hope that the voice had been Angel, but she knew already. It belonged to Lindsey. Her captor. He had put her here, given her to the people that were doing this to her.

She could smell the food before he had even mentioned it. Her stomach rumbled in desire, but she ignored it simply in protest. Honestly, she was surprised she even had much of an appetite. But, crappy salty McDonalds french fries sounded like absolute heaven right now. But, no, she wouldn't eat his peace offering, or whatever the hell he was doing.

She slowly sat up and narrowed her eyes at him as he set the food down near her. "Come to give me some more torture?" she asked, anger rising in her voice, "Because really, I've had more than enough for a lifetime."

She pulled her knees to her chest as she sat on the uncomfortable cot, "Really, what do you want? Because I'd rather you just kill me than chat me to death until my next lovely torture session."

"No, I'm not here to torture you," Lindsey admitted. He couldn't quite figure out why he was here, to be honest. He had just been told to come in and check on her. That was the only instruction he had been given. He had actually come up with the idea of bringing her food on his own. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to be doing here. He had figured that whatever food they had been giving her, if they had been giving her any at all, was crap.

"I gotta admit, I don't know what the hell I'm doing here," he said finally, sighing. He looked, well, at the least he looked uncomfortable with seeing her like this. It's one thing to shut out of your mind what your employers do around here. It's another to see it face to face. He really wasn't liking himself right now, but, then again, should he?

Some strange ideas were crossing his mind right now. Ideas that would probably get him killed if he went through with him. But he was human, though. He sucked to see a person like this, as a prisoner and looking like hell.

Lilah had just got done in a meeting, and had been instructed the same as Lindsey to go check on Cordelia Chase. Lilah hadn't been told what to do beyond that either. So she took the elevator down to the sublevel basement, and was soon walking down the long bleak hallway to the girl's cell.

When she got there she saw Lindsey was already there, and looking highly uncomfortable.
