5 year plan

I'm trying to work out my 5-year plan. I know I want to pay off my loans and start an advanced degree, but I'm not sure what exactly I want to study. For a long time, I simply assumed that I would go on to greater depth in my field, but now I'm beginning to rethink that in light of the difficulty in breaking even $50,000 / year while working 80
