Here goes,

I don't claim to know much.  As a matter of fact, I am pretty sure I know nothing.  And for that, I think I know more than most people.  I sit here, write down my thoughts, and flip through my music library listening to a mix of songs from DMB, Queen, AC/DC, and Rascal Flatts.  One could go so far as to say that the mix of music pretty ( Read more... )

Nice article, just one question. Why did you write: I would never call my self an "environmentalist". What you write is close of what I think and I feel near the environment. I don't care to say: I'm environmentalist,. But I do want human to take care of our earth. I'm just curious what is your idea of environmentalist.

Thanks

P.S. I think Greenpeace is cool ;-)

I wouldn't call myself an environmentalist because I have not taken any real actions or made any real changes in my life that would reflect it. I hold those beliefs and deeply wish to be able to make those changes when the time comes. As a college student living in a dorm and on a tight budget, living in an earth friendly way isn't always easy. I have little choice over the car that I drive (I'll have a hybrid someday), the food I eat (although I am a vegetarian, so that makes somewhat of a difference from a sustainability standpoint), where my electricity comes from or what is done with the land around me. So, mentally, I'm right there. Otherwise, not quite. So I'm a "mental environmentalist."

And I also think Greenpeace is darn cool : )

Beautifully written, my friend. Unfortunately, without a bartering system in place, we inherintly rely on $$$ to provide us with the goods we need, and thus, consumerism becomes a problem...not that it wasn't back in the bartering days either. More on that when I see you next.

Coffee soon?
