Selfish Love

He sat up in bed, the white blankets slipping off his bare body. The clock glowed eerily the numbers ‘4.25’ shown brightly in neon green.

There it was again, the feeling of overwhelming guilt. He bent forward, the base of his palms covering his red sleepless eyes, elbows on folded knees. His fingers dug through his raven hair, mixing streaks of gold in the sea of black.

It was unfair to them, taking advantage of them like that. Feeling relieved, that they were the ones in the limelight, stealing the attention away from him. Letting them suffer that their every single secret of theirs were exposed to the public because they were the most wanted in their band.

And yet when he looks at the sleeping figure beside him, he feels that it is all worth it. That he feels secure to be by his side. He pulled the covers up higher to cover the sleeping other teen’s bare body.

Moonlight flittered softly into the room illuminating the sleeping teen’s face, giving it a soft powdery glow. The broad smooth ivory shoulders had a thin layer of light radiating off it. The teen shifted and the thin blanket wrapped itself tighter around his body, showing off his curves.

He peered down at him; he looked like an angel sleeping like that. He gave a soft sigh, the guilt coming back as soon as his eyes left the other’s body. He buried his face once more in his palms as the other stirred form his slumber.

“Ueda, what are you doing up?” the teen peered up at him, propping himself up on one elbow and using his other hand, brushed Ueda’s bangs.

“Maru… I…” Ueda leaned into Yuichi’s hand, encasing it with his own as tears flowed. The barricade was cracking. The will to be strong was slowly evaporating with every tear. He sobbed, making trails of wetness down his cheeks. He felt dirty, using his friends like that. To use

popularity to lure away the focus from them, to keep this love a secret.

This love between Yuichi and him was sacred, like a special bond that ties them together. Ueda feels the need to keep Yuichi secure so that he’ll stay by his side. That was the only thing he wanted, them being idols make this harder than he imagined. To keep their love away from the public, he feared that their love will be rejected and labeled as disgusting and eventually he had to be separated away from the one he loves the most.

“Shh… it okay, don’t cry…” Nakamaru pulled Ueda into an embrace as the other buried his face into Maru’s bare chest.

“Maru… I’m scared. I feel so guilty.” He wrapped his shivering arms around Yuichi waist; his bare skin against Maru’s own gave comfort to him.

“Why? Tatsuya…Shh… it’s okay, you can tell me what’s bothering you…” Yuichi wrapped the blankets around them and leaned them on the headboard. Whispering words of comfort, slowly the boy’s crying reduced to little hiccups.

“Yuichi… will you always stay by my side?” Ueda looked deep into Maru’s eyes, his own pleading for an answer. He was shaking, not of the cold but the fear that Maru will leave him. He started to feel regretful for crying, what if Maru found him annoying because he cried?

“Tatsuya you idiot! Of course, I won’t let you go no matter what.” He flashed a bright smile and held the other closer, “You can’t blame yourself for that; it’s what the public wants. They want Akame not us. It’s okay Tatsuya…”

He brought his head down and pressed his lips on to Ueda’s.

“Tatsuya…” He breathed, flicking out his tongue and traced the outline of Ueda’s full lips. He nibbled lightly, coaxing the younger boy to open up to him which he did; letting the older boy’s enter the sweet cavern.

They shared a kiss, a short one before separating, and the thin line of saliva broke in between them.

“Let’s watch the sunrise.” Nakamaru suggested, without waiting for an answer he lifted the smaller boy off the bed and carried him and the blankets bridal style towards the balcony.

They sat on the marble floor, Ueda on Maru’s lap. The sky was in a brilliant indigo color and the horizon was just a thin line of golden light.

“It’s beautiful…” Ueda burrowed his head into Maru’s neck and let out a contented sigh.

“Yes it is…” the two of them sat there in silence, holding each other and let the body heat warm them up. They watched time change the colors of the sky, their bodies pressing close together, never to let go.
