No, actually. It's been more like 3.5 but in a few months it will be four. I left a few months after I got my original visa. But yeah, it feels like yesterday. Sigh.

I whole-heartedly recommend it. I put it on at work and listened the whole way through just to make sure I wasn't over-exaggerating. (I wasn't.)

wow, 4 years!
holy crap wes!
well I'm glad things seem to be going more smoothly for you! I remember a few years ago when you were having more trouble with jobs and places to live etc..
Now seems much more cruisy for you?
Moleskine - Nice,.. I've got a 2008 pocket planner. I love these diaries!

Perth is unfortunately a different place from 4 years ago hey,... the mining boom, and all the money that has been pumping through Perth, it just hasn't been healthy. There's big pressure on rentals, Inflation on foods etc and expensive everything. Too many people in too short a time. I wish things could be sleepier again. But on the other hand, there are more opportunities for jobs as businesses expand. Double edged sword.

I know, dude. I look back and think of Japan (I have our photos prominently on my wall) and how that seems like yesterday. You're right, there has been some pretty clumsy times here but at least it has gradually become better. In some ways I hate feeling settled here though. It's like a false kind of security. I know sooner or later I'll want to leave because it's just too much after a while.

Moleskins are lovely. I may not feel like Earnest Hemingway, but at least I have some written word I can hold in my hand. Surprisingly I'm becoming more anti-computer than I used to be, though I'd still be lost without one.

Hmm, sleepier. Perth needs these booms, to remind itself that it doesn't actually exist in a bubble and is part of a larger economy. It is interesting to hear about these changes. I especially look forward to seeing it for real in December.
