hey......recently i picked up a copy of "this will be laughing week",recommended by a friend,and relized the awesome ubercoolness that is ultimate fakebook.it would be cool if someone could give me a bit of there history,if there touring,who is everyones fave band guy and so on ( Read more... )

This Will Be Laughing Week is their second album. It was released twice, on Noisome and later Sony. Their debut on Noisome, in 1997, was Electric Kissing Parties. That's supposed to be re-released later this year. The third album, Open Up and Say Awesome, came out last year on Initial, and they've just released an EP called Before We Spark. The band is originally from Manhattan, Kansas, and now resides in Lawrence and metro Kansas City when not on the road.

The band is on tour starting later this week. All the dates are on their site.

Similar bands? Well, I'd strongly suggest their friends from Little Rock, The Kicks. That's a good place to start.

mxpx and ultimate fakebook was one of my favorite concerts of all time. i had never heard the band, saw them, loved them... bought pins and a cd. then they kind of fell off the face of the planet. now they are gaining a new fanbase and have a new album out... i love them. in the only way a boy can love other boys.
