I was taken by the Malnosso some time ago and it seems you live in the came community building as I do, perhaps you would like to meet then?

Yes, some of my friends were upset that it happened to me. [He sighs.] It lasted for an entire week.

Understandably so. No one deserves to go through that.

...And after that week, you were completely back to normal?

Yes and with memories of what I had done along with who I interacted with. [He sighs.] I suppose you wish for me to tell you about the worse part I saw?

[Mulder maintains his professional but sympathetic demeanor.]

If you don't mind, could you?

My best friend was kidnapped by the Malnosso some time ago and how they brought him back was...terrible. He was very bloody and blinded in one eye. [He seems a little embarrassed.] I...almost didn't have it in me to look at what happened since blood is not exactly something I enjoy.

Some people are more squeamish than others, it's all right. The Malnosso appear to have no regard for the kind of shape they toss people back in...

[The least they could do is throw people back in their beds or the clinic or something, but NOOOO. Arrgh.]

It's actually...more than simply myself being squeamish, Mister Mulder. [There's a sigh escaping his lips.] How much about my history do you know?

Not a whole lot, I'm afraid. You were around in the nineteenth century... I think... if I remember correctly, you suffered from some kind of affliction?

Both of those answers are correct, so you have studied a bit about me then. [He sighs again.] The affliction I was suffering from is a disease known as tuberculosis, I'm certain you're familiar with it.

[He nods.] Yeah, I know about it. That's too bad, that you had to go through that. Are you in better health here, at least?

[A nod.] Yes, I am in better health here. It is thanks to my friends along the doctor I am seeing though and my will to actually try being healthier.

The better technology probably makes a difference too. I hate to admit that there are some advantages to being here, they just come at such a high price...

If I can be told by a doctor that I'm able to live instead of dying, I'd rather pay that price.

I don't blame you. I guess it's a better existence for a lot of people here, compared to the alternative.

After learning of the technology in this world, my world seems much more primitive.
