[There's a quiet crunching sound before Mulder speaks up, sounding thoughtful.]Show of metaphorical hands. Or antennae, whichever you're partial to: Who here has been kidnapped for a special one-on-one date with our captors? I'd like to arrange an off-journal meeting to speak about your personal experiences if anyone happens to have some free time ( Read more... )

Where can I meet you? [Since he also has some other things to say that are probably best kept off-journal.]

If you're willing to come over to Community Building Seven, I just got back to my place.

[And he's pretty sure the place isn't bugged. He... sort of checks almost everyday for Ways They Could Be Listening.]

[Playing back the original message.] 7-10. I'll be right there.

[In about twenty minutes, he'll be knocking on your door.]

[Mulder sets aside his journal for the time being and goes to get the door.]

He-llo.

[Ok they haven't met in person. Let's take a moment for Mulder to bask in the OMG MAN-SIZED TURTLE moment here. It's not everyday...]

It's good to finally meet you in person, Don. I'm glad you could make it, come on in, get comfortable. Don't mind the clutter.

[Mulder hastily brushes a bunch of sunflower seed shells into a trash can, and then moves some stacks of papers off of one of the chairs. His livingroom basically has files and folders on most of the surfaces, he's such a busy man with no life and no pay-per-view TV. Books on the paranormal are set among all the papers. That and there's a fishtank in one corner, sadly he's only obtained one goldfish that lived so far.]

First, explain your motives. Then you ask for private information

That's a reasonable request.

[He's pretty used to this sort of thing, and sort of expected it happening a few times.]

I'm Agent Fox Mulder, of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. You could think of that as a specialized type of law enforcement- I investigate crimes with a paranormal angle to them.

While I'm stuck here... the Malnosso and their sick experiments are my top priority. The more that can be learned about them, the more information put together, the better chance there is at figuring a way out of this mess.

...I meant that generally; but even had I not, your reasons are not compelling. Many people are interested in such things. What is it that makes you worth telling?

...because someone should ask these questions? [And once he gets something stuck in his head he can't let it go. But that's beside the point.]

We're all stuck in the same place here, we need to look at every angle possible for answers.

Ah, Mr. Mulder... I unfortunately cannot contribute much information, as I have only witnessed kidnappings second-hand via the journal systems...

... But I would be pleased to provide a direct account, should I ever be able to. [And he definitely will be able to, one day, because his mun is cruel.]

Would you need any assistance in obtaining those supplies? [Robert is a bit lonely/depressed still and is not against the idea of helping Mulder out.]

That's perfectly fine, Robert, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you are. I'd like to hear what you have to say.

[Mulder knows it's insane and he shouldn't WISH to be abducted. But he does kind of want to know all there is to know...]

If you want to head out and find me, I'm poking around the shops. [Laughs lightly.] Just promise not to think any less of me if it turns out that I'm not exactly on the hunt for any... serious supplies.

Well, if you would not mind my company, I could tell you in person, if you would be amicable.

Besides, I might find some supplies for something I was considering myself. A sort of... unofficial project to commemorate a special someone... [Specifically, supplies to set up a small but workable hydroponics garden.

... He's going to grow some small indoor flowers, in honour of Vivi.]

... Er, i-if you do not mind... perhaps I will see you there? [And Robert takes the journal with him - still open, mind you - down to the shops with him. Mulder's welcome to chat more on the way, because, as much as Robert's walking speed and ability has increased during his stay in Luceti, he's still kind of slow.]

Of course, I'd like to have the company. In addition to chatting on my latest topic of interest.

[He sets the book nearby as he goes through some items.]

They really do have almost everything here, I've found. Always almost. But maybe you'll find what you're after.

I've been taken twice. I'm not shy about it -- but it's been a while. Almost a year and a half since my last trip.

Would you be willing to share the details of your experience, anyway?

...The things I can remember? Sure.

Good, I'm hoping that piecing them together will yield... something useful. I guess I won't know until I ask around.

Could I meet you somewhere to talk? I don't like the idea of all of this being committed to the journals.

I've been kidnapped several times over the past couple of years.

Normally, I'd say stop by the Welcome Center, but...I'd rather go somewhere less public for this.

Yeah, all we'd need is to traumatize some unsuspecting New Feather who wanders in...

I appreciate your willingness to talk, though. We could head off for a little walk in the forest, maybe, get away from prying ears? I don't mind having you come over to my place, either.

[Covered in the shells of so many sunflower seeds, but he can clean that up.]

A walk is fine. We can meet at the fountain and go from there?

Reply

[Voice/Filtered] ufo_fanboy June 1 2011, 04:31:22 UTC
That'll work for me, I should be heading in that direction now.

[It's STILL weird to shop using the take-it-and-leave policy, but Mulder does just that with the few things he's gathered, making his way to the fountain.]
