[Things have settled down. Between experiments, amusement parks, abductions and drafts, this is the first nice calm stretch of time he's had in a while. So Mulder's hanging out in the Battle Dome. He's been coming there a lot more lately. The new features interest him, and there are places from home he can't help revisiting. Not always to fight, ( Read more... )

It wasn't actually dying, but I no longer exist in my world. It is rather complicated to explain, but I would be willing to answer any questions you have.

You no longer exist? [Oh man, he's so very pinged by this!] Would you mind expanding on what you mean by that, first?

[Of course Mulder would be pinged by that, he'd probably find Tia's world quite fascinating too, since well, they worship dragons.] It truly is very complicated, and I would not wish to openly discuss it over the journals. The simple explanation is that when certain elements of my world ceased to exist, I vanished along with them since my existence depends on theirs.

Maybe someday I can talk you into giving that long version? [Mulder understands paranoia, though, and some things he'd reserve for completely off journal.]

[For now, though, he considers what she's saying. The concept is pretty understandable, and it basically counts for his purposes.] For now, I'm curious about your arrival and whether your previous state impacted that in any way. Do you remember anything from the point of vanishing to waking up here?

I died twice in my home world, and once here. I'll talk to you, if you'd like.

Thanks, Ami, I appreciate your willingness to talk, as always. The compare and contrast is exactly what I'm looking for. [He hadn't been sure there would be anyone with both experiences.]

I'll start out with what happened back home... were you brought here immediately following either of those deaths?

No; they were a long time before I came here. [Thousands of years ago, and some four years before her return here.]

Then the revival happened entirely in your own world. [Good to know, it'll make the comparison that much better.] Do you have a clear memory of coming to, when you returned to life back home?

Holding place...thing. derek_bliss September 16 2011, 10:44:16 UTC
Died here once. It was during one of the drafts, so it was pretty quick.

I won't ask you to recount that part in any detail unless you wanted to. I'm mostly interested in the revival process itself. Do you remember anything in the time between it happening and your return here?

...I was...dreaming, I guess, but don't remember much. It was cold. It hurt a lot for a while, and I think I might have been in the labs before they sent me back to the village, but I'm not sure.

I would assume they'd have tests or some other procedure to perform, given their traditional week-long pattern...

What about when you woke up back in the village? Could you describe that experience?

Gee, don't you really like to ask the tough questions.

[This place gives him far too many mysterious difficult things to ask about.]

Maybe next time I should ask everyone's favorite ice cream flavor?

...It's a tie between chocolate chip cookie dough and peanut butter fudge crunch.

Both good choices. [He answers as if he were discussing a very serious topic.] I'm partial to the old standard cookies and cream, myself. You can't knock the classics.

Ah, the thing with the timelines really is weird, isn't it? My best friend here - her name is Ami-chan, by the way - got taken from years into the future for me. I don't really get why they did that, so it just seems really strange!

It is strange... I wonder what makes them choose their timing, or whether there's even any choice in the matter at all.

So you're a friend of Ami's from home?

Yes, I am! Ah-- does that mean you know Ami-chan? Are you a friend of hers too?

I am, yes. She's always an interesting person to talk to.

[And she's been helpful when it comes to fighting, though Mulder knows better than to bring certain things up in public.]

But you and I haven't spoken yet. I'm Fox Mulder.
