 Goodbye Friends

I have important news for the members of ufstudents . Please proceed to the numbered items below:
  1. I have graduated, again, from the marvelous University of Florida.
  2. This time should be the final time, unless my taste for masochism grows even further.
  3. I've heard that organic chemistry is very hard. Please, tell me in detail about your ( Read more... )

Grats. And as someone who sucks at doing math/chemistry, I found organic to be pretty enjoyable. I mean, enjoyable for something annoying that I am forced to do :P I thought it was pretty simple, just a lot of memorization.

Yeah, I'm totally ace at memorization, too. I knew I should have gone into the life sciences instead of into engineering...

Thank you, sirr.

I'll try to resist the temptation to return to school unless I make the attempt to simplify my life and take out some loans. Part-time work + school is very draining.

Your Gator 1 will stop letting you in at the start of the next semester, once they realize you aren't registered for classes. It sucks :(

Congrats on graduating (again). I finished my "again" graduation in 2008. I find it amusing how everyone goes "I can't wait to get a JOB and be done with SCHOOL" but then after working for a few months, with no holidays or summer break or break weeks or whatever, they go "I MISS SCHOOOOOLLLL!" I am a teacher, and I still miss school, even though I'm in one EVERYDAY. So no one will fault you if the academic masochism bug bites you again.

Yeah. I totally missed school after like two months on the job. The little built-in short-term goals and semester-by-semester changes are really fun. The monotony of a job can get pretty tiresome.

can't you register for a one credit class for the free gym access?

I'm a grad student, so paying for one credit would probably cost more than paying for a couple months of a gym membership. I leave our fair city of Gainesville in July :[

Thank you for the suggestion, though.

Couldn't you still register for UG classes as a grad student? I'm in law and I know I could if for some weird reason I wanted to.

Good idea. My department, ECE, has blocked registration for undergrad courses before. Maybe they'll make an exception for the summer?

A side note...Alter Ego Fitness downtown does month-to-month memberships, and if you show you are a student (like get in before you graduate) it's like $25 a month. So not FREE, but cheaper than the other gyms around. Nothing fancy, but sufficient. Even cheaper if you work for UF like my husband, we pay 21 a month for a month-to-month membership.

Yeah, I live within walking distance of Alter Ego. The student discount sounds cool. I'll check that out.

Thanks ~_~
